Lets see if I can describe my question: Lets say I buy 2 retail copies of NIS 2010, each with a year time limit. Can I install one and use it for a year, then it runs out, i.e I don't renew it and then install the other one and use that one(key) for another year, or would it be expired?

From memory as soon as you install said Norton product the license period starts, even for a multi license. However if a product was not installed it should not be active and working through your subscription until you install it. You may be better off though just buying Norton with a longer subscription. It will probably save you money too.

If those are 2 separate retail copies (not one single license for 2 or more computers), you can use them just as you want to; install NIS and use the other license after one year to prolong the subscription.

(Did you find a nice rebate somewhere?)
