Well, I was at Fry's today, and I had seen Norton Internet Security 2009 for 3 users (1 year) online at Fry's for $10 after rebate. In the store, it was a different type of rebate, so they suggested Mcafee Total Pretection 2009, free after rebate. Got it, brought it home (why not :p) and don't know whteher I should continue to use Avast, go back and talk to them more about NIS 2009, or use Mcafee?

    Thanks for your help.

I like NIS.........it's more easily configurable and installs much, much quicker, for what that's worth.........

1 feature I like in Norton is you can easily shut down protection for 15 minutes, 30, etc., in case you don't want it to scan some particular files you are downloading, etc.

and you'll get 10,000 different opinions about the best AV or Int Sec anywhere you go...........

Yeah, I'm pretty partial to Norton too, but i'm not sure if it's worth the trouble.

Norton 2009 is fantastic, fixed all the problems of old Norton products.

Catches every attack, every potential virus. Never uses more than 6MB of RAM, never slows anything down at all or interrupts me when I'm playing a game, even when it's actively scanning.

I haven't used the other two lately, but as far as I'm concerned, there's no reason to use anything but Norton 2009.

I agree that NIS 2009 is a great choice.
