I have always said that McAfee is the worst Antivirus suite you could ever get, starting from very high system resources, to never finding any well known virus.

Imagine this, I inserted my clean flash disk into my pc at work which has McAfee obiously as enterprises seem to swear by McAfee AV, so I copied a few pics, then tried inserting the flash disk on my HP laptop (personal lappy) which has NOD32 v4 running, NOD32 immediately intercepted an autorun virus and deleted the file. heh.........what gives?

LOL. Yep, I got rid of a free year or something of McAfee first thing on my laptop. I'd rather forgo the free *benefit* of McAfee for a free anti-virus I know will do a better job. :p

I wonder why does every company I work for use it, and I , mean every single one!! ?

I feel any computer with McAfee operates at half the speed technically due to it eating up so many resources and not really doing anything!

LOL! Same here. Many companies use McAfee but it sucks really.
Avira Antivir Personal 9 already pawns it without a doubt.
My friend use McAfee and I use Avira. His USB flash drive inject to my laptop and got VIRUS! Cheer~

I would literally rather have 200 different types of viruses, trojans, and just vicious vicious crap on my laptop.

Well, or throw my laptop off a cliff, depending on my local.

I've never heard anything good about McAfee. FWIW, my company has always used Symantec Corporate AV.

I'm just surprised by these IT Managers in companies, how in the world do they decide to use McAfee? based on what history? based on what performance? I don't get it......

My friend who is an IT Manager swears by McAfee and has it installed on all his systems and won't listen to me no matter what and believes it is very easy to update across the network and is more suited for a corporate environment

I doubt it is due to ENTERPRISE mode/version.
McAfee provides AV for ENTERPRISE uses which a company is needed to pay certain amount of money or rent(contract I don't know how to explain) to McAfee to get a permanent version of McAfee AV Enterprise version for every computers in the company.

I didn't get what you said but he did mention that one of the reasons he goes with McAfee is due to the fact that aquiring multiple licenses for many PC is much cheaper than other options :(
