Freinds, I repeatedly get emails from a client that uses AOL through a web interface. (Typically at 4 am) The subject line says (no subject) but the email address is valid (hers).
She says she did not send them, I have not opened any of them. I have advised her to update MB and MSE, reboot into safe mode and run full scans with both. Waiting to hear results... I have teamview installed on her machine (she is 60 miles away and my car is down) as well as mine , can anyone suggest anything else I should do for her? I have emailed her and told her not to use the internet until she reports back the scan results. Thanks, Josea

thanks Hakira, I also told her to check her balances with all financial inst. she deals with over the internet.

She needs to change her passwords while on a secured machine. I don't think aol was affected by the Epsilon breach, so just basic security measures should suffice. If you want to be sure or get an idea of where they came from, you could open the emails while in a VM or sandbox and take a close look at the headers.
