Has anyone had any experience with it? What percentage of laptops are returned with lojack on them?

I don't have personal experience with it but a forum member Renee does. She had it on her laptop and had her laptop stolen and they were able to recover it. She has it back now. Send her a PM(hope she answers PMs).

I don't have any experience with making a recovery, but I've had Lojack on my m1530 for awhile. It came with 2 years free. It works great, especially with a BIOS-enabled system like the M1530. That just means that Lojack is enabled in the BIOS and isn't erased by formatting or replacing the hard drive. I've done both several times and Lojack always reappears on its own with no intervention from me. It just never gives up.

I had it the same with my 1530...came with 2 years free w/purchase :D

It never presented a problem for me, and I'm glad to have had it *just in case*.

Here is a nice thread about how Lojack worked for a forum member:

The exploit that was uncovered recently allows a person to change the phone home address the system uses, so a savvy thief (which isn't most) can defeat lojack now and still get online with the machine. It still seems like a fairly good idea to have though, if recovery rates really are as high as 75%.
