I have kaspersky 2009 and I was surfing the web today when I got an alert for a Trojan detection and I got the little window warning. So I freaked out and did a full scan with kaspersky. Once that was done I went to the kaspersky menu and clicked on detections and the only detections that it has are programs that need to be patched like java, itunes, and adobe flash player. Why programs that are not updated are considered threats has me confused but other wise it says nothing about the Trojan does that mean it was removed? I had macafee before and it would tell you if it was removed/fixed and kaspersky does not. I want to make sure that the Trojan is off my computer. Any help? thanks!

I don't have Kaspersky, but I'm thinking maybe it was warning you that there are trojans on that website that you could be tricked into downloading, not that they actually got on to your computer. I know Norton puts up a window warning me if a website has trojans on it... it doesn't mean my computer is infected, it just means, hey, this site is dangerous, don't download anything from here.

If a program is out-of-date, there may be known vulnerabilities and exploits for it, and it could be a way for malware to get onto your computer.

NOD32 has an "online" scanner that you can run from their website to get a second opinion.

Kaspersky is pretty good anti-virus have been using it for about 2.5 yrs only had 2 or 3 really bad infection that kaspersky could not get rid of. Like what swarmer said it may have just been a warning about the website, which should be nothing to really worry about if you really think you are infected you can run a scan with Malwarebytes.

The programmes that need to be patched are "search for vulnearabilities".

Try another ful scan, but first set he detection to heuristc and high etc. (via options)
