Yeah. Get Norton Internet Security 2009. Its the lightest AV available. ;)

Have you done a full system scan?
Kaspersky needs one full system scan after it is installed.

I found that out on my SZ - after that the computer is much faster.

I think Kaspersky tries to monitor every file otherwise, not just file changes.

    Edit:
I run Kaspersky, also do on my old Medion - it doesn't seem to slow down my computer.

Norton Antivirus 2009 is the lightest-resource AV out there right now, and also has very good detection rates. You won't find anything better.

Do the full system scan overnight, then see how the speed improves :)

(As you have Kaspersky, no need to change - I'm anti Norton - even though reviews of the current version are good, let's see if you can save some money)

Tell it openly, you prefer a product of the Russian FSB (ex KGB) man Kaspersky to a reliable american product. :(

Why is an American product supposed to be reliable?

...McAffee - brings your computer to a standstil, CA - get's bad detection rates, Norton - until version 2009 did the same as McAffee - it shut down your computer.

I prefer what is good, and Kaspersky is good.
    Full stop.

Also, the OP already has Kaspersky, so why should he invest in a product that overal is not necessarily better but potentially worse?

    And Edit:
Just for everybody - I know you hate Kaspersky - well, I don't.

Please check your logic. Did I say that? A formal logic fact: if set A is in B, it does not imply B is in A. A=reliable product. B=american product.

Is Kaspersky as good that you're ready to pay to the Russian FSB for it and make your computer delivered to the "security updates" and whatever can be sent with them from Russia? I realize that some people in the US will say yes here based on their ideological preferences (after all, one million of Americans were voting for "American communist party" during the cold war times).
