Everytime I try to check my performance in Win 7 WEI I got an error code and a message that "unable to complete due to bad software or hardware." I checked the Winstat file and everything seems to point to Kaspesky.

Checked their forum and sure enough, KIS 2010 seems to be the cause of this problem when installed on x64 bit Win 7. You would think that they would have posted a warning since it is "Fully compatible with Win 7" and they recommend that you upgrade as 2009 is not fully doing it's job on Win 7.

Just a head's up in case anyone runs into this problem. Might save some time from checking video cards, HD,etc. like I did.

Is it KIS itself or is it because its running on a 64Bit OS.
I wonder if its more acase of "notfully 32Bit compatible".

But they also messed up some other things in KIS 2010 :( (Webcam ICQ)

It couldrelate to how KIS monitors software.

I'm running x64 of Win 7 Ultimate RTM. If you were lucky and got the 2010 9.0.0.463 version, it works fine with Win 7 on my laptop with that version. However, running the 2010 9.0.0.763 version definitely stops the WEI from completing. I tested it by removing and running WEI sucessfully. Then installing Kaspersky(9.0.0.763) and not being able to complete. It's definitely a "bug" and is posted in their forums. They keep saying a "patch" will be provided but they don't know when. Unforunately, you can't get or use the 2010 9.0.0.463 version anymore as it will not accept your activation key from 2009 version. Plus they removed it from their site for the en-version. I'm not saying that it is the only thing that could cause a problem with WEI,(I heard some people were having problems with the new ATI driver) but just wanted to let people know it can. It would have saved me alot of time not tracing the conflict if I had known about it.:rolleyes2:

I have Kaspersky 2010 sitting in a box right next to me, and I'm not installing it yet due to all the issues/complaints over on the Kaspersky forums. Apparently Kaspersky is working on it, but the program doesn't appear ready for prime time.

Well, they finally posted a work-around for this problem until a "patch" becomes available. You have to uncheck a box, rename 2 files, recheck a box- and OMG it actually lets you do the WEI.

I just think that everything is new concerning Win 7, but make the solutions to problems easier to find and not pretend they don't exist. My reply from Tech was it is a known issue and a "patch" will be available, they just don't know when. No referral to their work-around. Had to google that myself.

Plus, once you upgrade to the 9.0.0.736, they don't let you downgrade to the 9.0.0.436 again, which doesn't have this problem. They have removed the en version completely. Sorry, guess I'm just blowing off steam but I definitely am not impressed with their tech support!
