    Just got Norton on my laptop, have a couple of questions:

    1) Will the phishing filter slow down browsing in IE? (been usign for years on my desktop, hadn't really thought about it, as my old desktop is so slow that I probably would't know the difference...)

    2) My istat wireless gadget no longer works, lists the wireless connection as "0%;" I'm assuming that this is because of Norton (only happened after I installed and rebooted)

    3) Will I be protected from viruses in any way otuside of Windows (more of a Linux question, but I'll throw it out there).

    1: Probably only a little. I suggest you switch to firefox though.
    2: Yes, it's because of norton. you need to allow some permissions or something to that effect.
    3: Nope, you install it in windows, it "protects" you in windows. Plus, linux doesn't need it anyway.

    Some modifications to Calvin's thoughts.

    1. I would agree just a little;
    2. Yes you need to create a rule to allow your gadget through the firewall;
    3. Linux has its own firewall depending on the flavor, and your windows firewall won't do you any good then anyway;

    Which version of Norton do you have?
