This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Is Spybot's "Immunize" function actually useful?

    Been using it for a while... Does it actually provide any meaningful protection? Also, it doesn't support Chrome, which I'm recently switching to.

    As far as I know it blocks bad websites using the hosts file. I think it should affect Chrome and all Windows programs. No idea if it has helped me.

    It's not a fashion collection for 2012- it's supposed to work and it does.
    Simple solutions are usually the best ones.

    Another app that works in a similar manner is SpywareBlaster.

    Is this feature obselete?

    do i need to have it (immunization)?

    I'am currently using MSE, Spybot S&D, SpywareBlaster.

    currently planning to uninstall Spybot S&D and SpywareBlaster, is this a good idea?
