Is the upgrade from the free version worth it? Is the software as effective as it used to be?

Thanks a lot ladies and gents.

I debated same for a long time, took the plunge here a bit ago. Like the auto-update/scanning and malicious web-blocking of sites. Overall, I'm pleased with the purchase.

Good to hear. Is the real-time protection effective?

Appears to be - where I'm at we're subject to several attempts at hacking. Figured my router and firewall did pretty well - MBAM was stopping couple other sites also once shifted to the paid version - Appears pretty light on resources - overall I'm happy with it.

I recently upgraded to the premium version a few months ago, its real time protection is great. I use it in con-junction with Avira Free Version.

It's called supporting a great company that is doing there best to create a well mannered spyware eliminator. Free isn't all it's cracked up to be.

Purchase the full version only if you think you need constant monitoring.
I don't deem that necessary, so I use only MSE for real-time protection and MBAM free for on-demand scanning.

Still pleased with the purchase - auto updates, full time monitoring (yes I'm in an area where need it).
Light on resources. Good program - supporting their efforts.

I use the same combo. Sometimes I will also use Superantispyware just to make sure.

MSE / MSSE = Microsoft Security Essentials

There's a download link near the bottom of the page under the "Download" heading.
