    Infected Windows PC, how do I scan possibly infected USB devices?

    I'm helping a friend with his laptop, MBAM found 119 instances of malware, bad registry entries etc.

    What should he do with his Samsung Galaxy S II and Ipod? Just plug them in and scan?
    I've never done this before, but those devices could easily infect the laptop again I guess.

    Oh and yes, the computer have W7 64 bit and MSE installed, both updated to date. It's been known for a long time now, MSE is not safe. I will install Avira for him now.
