I am trying to get a computer working after removing many instances of many different virus. I have most everything working good.

The current problem is IE. Each time I try to run it I get an error message. The window title is "iexplorer.exe - application error". The error message is "The instruction at "0x1000070f7" referenced memory at "0x1000070f7". The memory could not be "read". Click OK to terminate. Click CANCEL to debug.

Not matter which option I try it does the same thing which is cycles through a few more time with different memory addresses and then nothing. I'm sure this is due to the viurs that is now removed. I would rather not reinstall if possible since not all the software on this machine is still available to be installed.

Is there a program that can fix this error? Would a registry repair program be of any help?

If you have a solution to this problem I would love to hear you type it. :D

    Thanks

    Have you tried system restore?

Also I'd like to point out early telling him to use FireFox is unhelpful.

No, I turned system restore off in order to fully remove the virus. I need IE because I have to be able to go to either Windows or Microsoft update.

Not naming the OS won't help...

Maybe try getting the IE8 installer via another computer and install the browser.

If its XP, maybe - it'll treat IE as a system component and "sfc /scannow" will help which checks and repairs system files...

Cut the loss, back up your personal data and go for clean re-install of the system.

    cheers ...

That error is almost certainly caused by an add-on/toolbar.

Go to add/remove programs and remove anything that has the word TOOLBAR in it.

Go into Internet Explorer Options and disable all add-ons that remain. Add them back in one at a time until you find the culprit.

My money is on a google toolbar, which I found often caused this problem.
