As the title says, how secure are Gmail Notifiers? I've seen one made by google and a couple FF extensions, but I'm hesitant at using them because I don't know if they're secure. The last thing I'd want is my password broadcast unencrypted over the internet or sent to someone. Still I'd like to know if I have mail without going to gmail. Should I just stop being lazy and continue checking through gmail's page?

I'm looking for a confirmation that Gmail Manager, https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1320 , is secure or if anyone else uses any other gmail notification system and knows whether it is secure or not.

Edit: Looks like I found what I wanted in the gmail notifier extension. It says it uses https and stores passwords in firefox's password manager.
