It seems to be stuck there and I don't feel like reinstalling Firefox along with all the add-ons. Does anyone have a solution to this annoyance?

Check Add/Remove Programs; Ask Toolbar & SafeSurf.

Right, it was all about that Ask Toolbar I kept overlooking in the Add/Remove Programs. Appreciate the help.

That's a 'bit' problematic behaviour by Comodo; They don't tell you that for the Safe Surf feature to work, you don't need the Ask Toolbar.
It's a way to make money for Comodo and it's a way to alienate users from their products by being not clear about it.
Not that their firewall isn't a good product, au contraire!
    Cheers.
