Okay so our laptop got some kind of virus and long story short im to the point now where I can get it to stay on with out shutting down or opening a bunch of wierd stuff but it seems to have lost all its drivers and internet connection driver. I cannot find a way to connect this thing to the internet so just going on and downloading new drivers isnt an option. I really dont care about the computer as much as getting one folder full of my files off of it. I need to find a way to get that folder. please help! Any help or thoughts here are appreciated!

    Thanks

Can you turn your laptop on and boot into "Safe Mode" ?
If so, I would download a malware scanner (MalwareBytes, SuperAntiMalware) and run it while in safe mode
---Download scanner from a different computer, put scanner application install file on USB-drive, CD, install on troubled-laptop.

    Good luck

    Virus. 99% it is virus.

take HDD from computer. and connnect it to another computer which is protected from viruses. You can use any desktop. You need to open it and find any free SATA portto connect your HDD. I think that holding SHIFT button when connecting HDD should prevent from Autorun. Hold i for 10 seconds. Then find your folder and scan it. then copy files.

Also you can use HDD enclosure to use USB connection.

Sorry to hear that. My thoughts are {I'm glad a kindly Mod came along and edited the lame title for your thread}. Sounds pretty much like you're hosed. Time to flatten and reformat. However before you do that, you might try one of those 'live Linux' CDs and see if you can recover that one folder you care so much about.

PS: I also think you ought be more careful in your interweb habits. Common sense is still the best anti-virus.

    Hard disk drive.

And I'm not sure that there is autorun in Safe Mode. Just run the file on the recovery disk that starts the program, ie Setup.exe or the like.

At this moment I suggest to find anyone who knows what is computer.

I afraid that OP may have only 1 local drive and recovery will erase all. ecause it recovers only operating system.

    going to bed now.
