I was just on the net watching some TV episodes on alluc.org; A site that contains tons of links for TV shows and movies etc. I thought they were a legit site but in the middle of an episode the computer started going crazy with windows popping up and closing really fast.

I caught a glimpse of one of my password files popping up and closing REALLY fast and I shut the computer off immediately. I'm very careful what I'm clicking and nothing like this has ever happened before.

    A few things:

    I have Anti-Virus on
    Windows defender on
    A password protected router

Can someone please help me figure out what to do next?
I'm scared to boot back up.

    Thanks

    totally disconnect from the net!!!

run a full AV scan of your pc-- it sounds like you got a real bad type spyware when you went to the site/clicked on a link there........

if your av doesn't find anything, see if you can download a good spyware program like spyware doctor and /or webroot spysweeper. I'm sure others will quickly suggest some other very good spyware programs for you to use.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm going to disconnect everything right now and boot it back up. Really scary though  the way the password files opened up and popped on the screen like that.

I agree with nobscot, scan with SUPER antispyware, malware bytes, spybot SD, ad aware, EMCO malware destroyer and AVG antispyware in addition to a bitdefender scan (download the trial) and a kaspersky online scan.

also change your passwords ASAP from a different computer.

If you're really concerned, I'd copy off all your data, format the drive, and reinstall the OS clean. Better safe than sorry.

    I appreciate the help guys!

I never thought something like this could happen to me b/c I never download unkonown files and I'm normally very cautious when surfing in places I'm not familiar with. I always hover over the links that someone posts to make sure it's legit and I thought I was totally protected with KAS and windows defender up and running. I really shouldn't store passwords on the computer in a regular files anyway, that's my fault.

I just now replaced the windows firewall with KAS so hopefully that adds some extra security too.

KAS is running and all the scans came up clean. I'm going to download spybot and ad-aware right now and see if they turns up anything. The passwords will definitely be changed ASAP.

Agreed, I'm just going to go through all the different steps first and see if anything turns up.

With all due respect, forget about Spybot S&D and AdAware.
Download the free versions of SUPERAntispyware and Malwarebytes'Antimalware and let those programs sweep your HD.
Also reset your router to default settings and then change the standard username and password.
PCTools Alternate Operating System and Avira AntiVir Rescue Sytem are also options to consider. Link and link
    Cheers.

Alluc is a legit site, and supposedly all links are checked by the administrators.
But it only takes one bad link.

FWIW, "SUPERAntiSpyware" got a poor review from PC Magazine.
