Figures Id get spyware the first day I have my laptop. Anyways..

Every time I click on a link from google search it sends me to one of those spam search engines like pleasuresearch.com or whatever. I know its some kind of virus or spyware, but neither Symantec nor Spyware Doctor can find the problem.

Has anyone had this kind of issue? Asus M50VB if it matters.

    Thanks for the help!

Yeah I saw that thread and downloaded a bunch of those. Ill try your suggestion now, but Ive ran Avast and it detected a trojan that it was unable to remove. Ill keep trying.

Try running an Avast boot up scan. That should be able to get that trojan.

I was just about to do that, and for some reason the Asus auto-recovery thing started up, so I just went along with it. No CD's or anything! Problem solved I guess! Now to take preventative measures...
