    I currently have Avast, Spybot search and destroy, and Ad-aware running on my laptop. Is this enough to protect my laptop from most if not all viruses/malware/etc. If not, are there any other programs I should get because I looked at the free software list and I picked these 3 up.

    Hehe Thanks. My last computer ended up with a ton of viruses, slowing down it down a bunch. I just want to be safe with this new laptop : )

    If it was my computer I would have Malwarebytes and SuperAntispyware instead of Spybot and Ad-aware, but if you like those two you can still install MBAM and SAS and use them as on-demand scanners and to clean up the nasties that Spybot and Ad-aware won't be able to get rid of. I also like to install SpywareBlaster on all my computers to keep the bad stuff from getting on the system in the first place.

    Full List of BEST:
    AV(pick 1): Avira(free) / Avast(free) / AVG(not recommended LOL)
    Firewall(pick 1): Windows Firewall(free and every windows have it) / Comodo Firewall(free) / Sunbelt Personal Firewall(free)
    Antispyware: malwarebytes' anti-malware(free) + SuperAntispyware(free) + SpywareBlaster(free) + Windows Defender(free and vista/7 have it naturally)

    So far, these software work great for me. I have them on a few laptops and desktop. No problems at all.
    I always recommend these "FREE SECURITY COMBO" for my friends. This combo can be said as same as an PAID version Internet Security/Security Suite but you can have it for FREE.

    =.=! It is SOMETIME but not EVERYTIME.
    However, with those back-up software I mentioned such as MBAM and SAS as well as SpywareBlaster and Windows Firewall and Windows Defender. You will not have any more problems.

    Describing free Malwarebytes'Antimalware and SUPERAntispyware as crapware, only because they failed you, is bullcrap.
    Both products have paid versions with real-time protection, are they crapware or OK, simply because paid-for?
    Maybe you'd be happy with paid-for Norton?
    Guess what Symantec support has advised when NAV/NIS failed...the free version of MBAM.
    That ought to say something imao.

    I am a free loafer, and so far all crap-free software has served me very very well, instead of paying for craps :D

    @LOL! FREE FTW!! YEAH!!

    @Baserk:
    Wao! Good information.
    Good enough to prove MBAM is not a CRAPWARE. It is a GODWARE!

    Agreed, MBAM and SAS are far from crapware; in fact, they're very good at what they were designed to do. Of course neither one can do anything about computer users with pre-conceived notions and closed minds!

    Freeware is crap!? Yet another dunce on here that thinks deleting the system32 files will make the computer run faster. I've been running AVG, Spybot and Super-Anti Spyware and haven't had any problems. Maybe if you stop clicking those "YOU ARE THE 1,000,000th PERSON TO VISIT THIS SITE. CLAIM YOUR PRIZE NOW" you wouldn't have to deal with a virus overload.
