    COMODO is the one I use in my Vista 64-bit. Since Vista and 7 are very similar under the hood I'd guess it should work great with 7.

    And yejun is right, Vista and 7's built-in firewalls are pretty good.

    There's no rational reason to look for anything beyond what is already built into your OS. None.

    Windows 7 firewall control has a free version that includes outbound filtering. Best is that it just plugs into the built in windows firewall api, doesn't actually do the filtering itself.

    As others have said, the windows firewall has always worked for me.

    Yeah, I tend to agree with what's been said; Vista and Win7 have fairly robust firewalls compared to XP's.

    The next best thing would be to install an AV of some sort, like MSE or similar.

    I highly suggest buying a router my friend! You should always carry a router in your notebook bag. Never know what the internet connection is like with bugs! Good luck!
