    Free Avira AntiVir 10

    Apparently free has got rid of the nag screen to upgrade during updates. Either that or it doesn't appear when updates are set to invisible.

    I know that some wouldn't bother with the program at all if they had to hack their system in order to get rid of the screen but I don't see it in v10 using Windows 7

    The nag screen is still there. You will get it during the update. Avira 10 is not new, released long time back.

    Ever since I updated to Avira 10 (free version) last month, I no longer get the nag screen and I've done no registry hacks or disabled any Avira files.

    That nag screen still shows everytime I update virus definition.

    Now the nag screen disappeared during the updates. It had showed up before after I installed the version 10, so I did the security hack for avnotify.exe.

    I think the nag screen doesn't show up sometimes, but when it starts showing up, it continues to show up until the hack is done.
