Why don't you guys try it and do a full system virus check and tell us your findings? Take one for the team.

Eh, it doesn't expire until 1-17. I'll wait a bit since traffic is high and see if anyone has trouble with it.

I don't see any crazy difference between the PRO version and FREE version.

I decided not install the free pro as there is no good damn difference between the free and pro version except the high speed updates and 24/7 tech support.

Also the free pro version seems to be a old release.

But pros might not want a free thing. They would want to buy a license.

How do you stop the pop-ups from the free version wanting you to upgrade?

There's no popups in the free version. Have been running it for a long time now.

The PRO version lets you edit and add schedules for scanning tasks. The free version does not. It has one schedule built-in. Scan your whole HD every day.

Downloaded the pro version and installed it. So far so good. I put it on my new laptop, so if something is fishy I could just reformat while everything is still fresh.

The Pro has some advantages over the Free (duh), like being able to schedule scans whenever you want as opposed to being limited to the default scan at 8:00am every day.

Read the License agreement as well, and I didn't see anything out of the ordinary. It's a bit long so I won't post it, unless someone asks and wants to take a look.

I've been running AVG free for many years, and indeed there have been a *very few* popups telling you to also buy the firewall and spyware scanners. They are not true popups, but once in a while you'll notice that it doesn't start minimized to the tray, and there's a little banner ad on the control panel.

Installed Pro version. No problems and not very different from the free version.

I installed the pro version. It's not so different from the free version that would make me want to buy it.

But why haven't people been saying how good it is? Or at least saying something for it's well benefit. That makes everything seem very shady.

Wow you're hard to satisfy ;)

Well for one the pro version is extremely similar to the free version. Therefore you're not going to hear any "wow". Furthermore, people often complain more than they compliment.

For those that are wondering, here is the serial that is integrated into the .exe

    Code:
    75VNU-TH1RR1-L7-P03-C01-S3S9MD-2YN-3AUS
So instead of installing that older program, go to grisoft.com and grab their latest version and use the serial I provided.

The subscription lasts until Dec. 1, 2008. :)
