I recommend you checkout Outpost Firewall Pro and Comodo Firewall Pro. Comodo firewall is free, but Outpost has a little better protection. For full comparisons checkout: http://www.matousec.com/projects/windows-personal-firewall-analysis/leak-tests-results.php.

As you saw in my thread that you posted in I was torn between the two, but I will be getting Outpost because of its better protection. And because of the awesome special they have right now...They are offering 3 licenses for the price of 1 at $39.99, or 2 years at $54.99 - including updates and support.

    Why exclude ZA?

As a former ZA beta tester -- the vector engine has been a major source of problems for many users. I would recommend Kerio's firewall (sunbelt now I believe).

I ran ZA (Security Suite) for several years on XP but was sort of left hanging for awhile with Vista and tried several alternatives until I installed the ZA Security Suite when it came out for Vista but was disappointed in how many gaps there were between the Vista and XP versions so now I am running the ZA AV product which includes the full firewall which better than the free firewall and also includes AV and it works well for me.

And that is one long run-on sentence!

I have used ZA, and am unhappy with it, it seems to slow my pc down, considerably at the startup.

Comodo started up great, etc. But i just didnt get on with it.
