This is one of the top tier antispyware programs. This offer is for a license key for the full featured paid version for 12 months, normally $39.95. It is free for a limited time by going through the techsupportalert site-

    http://www.techsupportalert.com/a2.htm

    Here is A-squared's site-

    http://www.emsisoft.com/en/

Personally, I would rank A-squared right up there with SuperAntiSpyware as the best stand alone antispyware programs available. It is well ahead of Ad-aware paid and free versions, Spybot Search and Destroy, Windows Defender and SpySweeper.

I really like this program. It has been an excellent find for me. I got it the last time that they offered the free year.

I used to use Spybot S&D and Adaware and I use this exclusively now for spyware detection.

This is a real nice offer.
Anyone who likes a decent antispyware program with real-time protection should give this program at least a test run.

Why wasn't the thread about this offer, made by 'luee' earlier, not moved to this section? link

Is there any independent testing source that ranks them? Something like av-comparatives, but for antispyware programs?

Or... how do you determine what programs are the most effective?

Unfortunately there is no AV-Comparatives equivalent for antispyware programs.
For my sticky, I've searched extensively (believe me...) but there really is no company/organization that tests AS programs like AV-Comparatives and AV-Test.org test AV programs.

For the sticky I have made the AS selection, and especially those marked as recommended, based on reviews on sites like CastleCops and Wilders Security and recommendations of the most knowledgable forum members there.
(On Wilders Security you can discuss directly with folks who are behind SAS or MBAM).
