Having gone through most of the consumer anti-virus programs over the years...Norton (twice)...AVG...McAfree...TrendMicro...I finally decided to try NOD32 from ESET.

It is not a resource hog; runs quietly in the background; effective...Not flashy and no bells and whistles. Just a good basic anti-virus. Well worth the money (I did the trial first).

I have since installed it on all 5 of my computers.

    Highly recommended.

Yes, Nod32 is a great AV app.

Next to try if you haven't already is Kaspersky. KIS can usually be found at a cheaper price than ESET.
