After testing Emsisoft Anti-Malware for a while now, I have decided to use it from now on due to the fact that it's very light, has 0 bloat in it, and has some of the best PUP Detections out there in addition to your regular anti-virus/anti-malware, etc protection. It also monitors any suspicious network behaviour and prompts you if you want to allow that action or not so no need to buy the Internet Security suite which has a firewall, not for my usage needs at least

    I bought a 12 PC / 10 year license

I strongly suggest you try it, it gives you a 30 day free trial with no nags to upgrade or buy a license

Is the software really that good? Can it be run alongside NOD32 AV without issue?

It IS that good, if you download the demo which is for 30 days, then you let your friends install it, you get a free month of subscription for every friend that installs it via your personalized referral link

and no you cannot run it alongside anything else, this is not what you're thinking, as in, it's not like MBAM to be run alongside an AV, this is a full fledged AV which extends via its multiple layers to offer behavioral detection, anti-ransomeware, HTTP scanner, and your traditional AV.

It uses its own built in engine + Bitdefender Engine and the same signatures which are present in both are eliminated to enhance performance and not scan the same file with both engines/signatures

NOD32 is slightly lighter BUT here's the catch, NOD32's HTTP scanner slows down the internet by a small margin, nothing to complain about but I feel with Emsisoft's Anti-Malware, the internet is snappier with no lag when browsing through webpages.

But overall, NOD32 is a bit lighter I feel it when installing my Adobe CS Suite, with EAM it takes a bit longer than it takes when I had NOD32 on

they're both one of the lightest so we are taking about a very small difference here which your average Joe won't notice

Phoenix, outstanding. I have these two packages, nod32 and emsisoft, that I have since I bought my new computer this year. (Though I do not run both at the same time, as @Phoenix rightly cautions!) I chose them for evaluation mainly on the recommendation of the mods at bleeping computer (no affiliation!).

Backstory: I needed to start thinking ahead about something new for myself and my extended "family" and customers that I support, who are still mostly just using MBAM permanent licenses, with no virusscan. Our requirements were something with good web browser protection, speed, accuracy, have it be one product and not two products, and have it be relatively nag-free.

Emsisoft is really a good combined product, if you looking for something you want to pay for (instead of free tools).

Where did you find a license that covers so many PCs for so many years?

I got a 1 year license for 1 PC for free with the purchase of SyncBack Pro which is an awesome backup software that I use

I then upgraded it to 3 years

I then upgraded it to another 3 years but increase the PC count

    I then added more years

Now my license is valid for 15 PCs (for all my family) up to 2030

no more AV subscriptions for me :D

Hmm... interesting. I might just pick this one up over NOD32. It was my go-to AV before (M18x is using it right now), but I just opted for MBAM on my newest laptop.

Anybody know where we can get some coupon codes/discounts?

I just tried NVT OSA, will it play safe with EAM/EMET/WD/MBAM?
OSA seems to block cmd line as well which I use most of the time and even PS/vbs as well. I Uninstalled it. I want to have a layered defense.

Its better to remove your Name if you value privacy.
ESENT means EAM or ESET? From preliminary analysis your UWP app and Search data mostly Cortana is corrupted. Running sfc /scannow will fix it. Update UWP apps through MS Store app. Optionally, use DISM++ to clear out older Windows events, update history, WU cache, WinSxS cleanup and other things.

I thought those errors are related, but anyway it was very strange crash, with many multiple windows like what we used to see in win xp few years ago. Anyway maybe something wrong happened, but I like the software and I'll give it more time.

Brother, regarding to privacy, this is a good point, all my life I'm using one ID one name with one face, everything about me already online, and very easy to find, I have nothing to hide or to be afraid of. Most of the time asking myself, why I'm or others are using nicknames, fake identities, I believe one of the most major goal of our existence is to know each others, anyway this is not the right place to discuss, thank you for your kindness.

I respect your points about privacy, but these a name can reveal a lot of info about you. So, I erase any ID or confidential stuffs from public view.
Maybe you're running out of RAM OR W10 is forcefully paging unused memory blocks to disk when you have 16GB RAM.
Did you make sure 3rd party AVs are uninstalled properly incl. their drivers using autoruns?

    Normally it should.

Again, depends your settings. if you play with command lines, you have to adjust OSA for it.

User can run those cmd lines whreas 3rd party apps calls to cmd/ps will be disabled. It really blocked uGet since it was using Parent-> Child calls from FF. For now, NVT OSA will need to go because it is new and hopefully will get it installed once SB code is perfected.
For now it uses Wildcard and *names* to classify files.

Yes off course, Just look around in the settings. I don't have EAM installed so I can't tell you exactly but it's easy to spot.

@Umbra Many people including me if that news was disabled by default or at least to give an option during installation to have it enabled or disabled. I hate popups. I don't want any popups from my AV other than to tell me when I have a detection/infection.

Pardon the quality, I just used TeamViewer on my other laptop. I don't seem to have the same version as you do, @Phoenix. I have the news unticked, but it still shows below the overview of program.
