So, my mom got all these viruses (specifically the Sysinternals virus) on her computer, and I'm trying to help her clean it up. We have Mcafee Internet Suite which only found like half of the viruses on the computer. But the dumb Mcafee doesn't see Sysinternals as a virus! The virus is just lying on my desktop unharmed! !!! "KILL IT MCAFEE!" And, it's SOOOOO obvious that spyware is there because I get sent to random spam sites when I'm googling things.

Plus I've used Malwarebytes Antimalware, and it find any more viruses.

2 of my security softwares have failed. What can I do? Just wipe my hard drive? Buy PC Tool's antispyware for $30? Any free software?

    You can try the following:

Go into Safe mode by pressing F8 during computer start-up and scan your computer from there.
Alternatively, if that doesn't work, then remove Mcaffee and install MSE or Avast 5.
Update the desired one, go into safe mode and scan away.

Mcaffee has a bad detection rate and can be problematic all around.
Avast and MSE are perfect (although you only need 1).

I have to agree with your own suggestion there sir. Definately format your computer and then reinstall windows as a clean install to remove the viruses. Good luck!

A radical solution which is completely unnecessary unless OS system files suffered heavy damage and it cannot function properly as a result.

My recommendation for removing McAfee and installing MSE or Avast free (then updating them and going into safe mode to scan the computer from there) stands.
Additionally, download/install/update Malwarebytes or Superantispyware (free) (both are used for spyware cleaning since av's despite how good can miss a few).

Depending on your level of choice (I use MSE and Malwarebytes), go into Safe mode and scan your computer with both programs from there (not at the same time of course).

Going into Safe mode is recommended because most system files are not in use, therefore can be affected by the antivirus (if they were compromised in the first place).

Let us know how it went
