I think I may have a virus because my windows update was disabled, along with windows security center service. When I try to enable it, it just says it cannot be started.

I got windows update working again (by enabling it in services), but still can't turn on windows security center, and I read in another forum that sometimes antivirus software disable it? If so, is this true for NOD32? Or do I have a virus? I've done a scan in normal mode, but nothing came up. So, I'm trying to decide if I indeed, have a virus, and if so, if I should reinstall windows 7.

    Thanks for your help.

Are you saying you are having issue within Windows 7 RC? If so, yes, I recommend re-install W7 and try another antivirus.

    cheers ...

Thank you all for your replies.

In short, what I was trying to say is that windows update and windows security center was somehow disabled (I re-enabled both in "services"). Which lead me to believe that I may have a virus, but nod32 did not pick up anything. So, I'm wondering if I should do a clean install of windows 7. Although, I would really prefer not to.

    Further help would be wonderful.

I've been using NOD32 for quite some time now, and am currently using v. 4. I've never had NOD32 disable the Windows Security Center. In fact, WSC always alerts me if NOD32 is, for some reason, not running. I'm using XP though. Win7 may have some issues of which I'm unaware.

I would perform a clean install of Windows 7.
