    Competitors trying to block Spybot from users machines?

    actually, lately it was SpyBot (and Ad-Aware) making troubles to "competitors". by making a stupid mistake, their developers caused that installing of some AVs' drivers was blocked (those responsible for "network-related" features, like e-mails or web traffic scanning). installation of AV was simply failing then, if you tried to install such components. but after removing Ad-Aware and/or SpyBot temporarily - voila, no installation errors anymore.

    what needs to be said, after the devs were notified, the fix was released quickly.

    and what needs to be said as well, the teatimer - as a resident part of SpyBot - really sometimes causes issues, and it's a generally known thing that more than one software with a real-time protection is not a good idea. i'd not call it a conspiration against SpyBot.
