I tried Comodo Pro firewall a few months ago but didn't care for it, so I uninstalled it.

However, when I checked Windows Security Center, I was warned that I have both Comodo Pro firewall and the Windows Vista firewall running.

I found Comodo files and deleted them, ran CCleaner as well as its registry tool, and ran Auslogics defrag. Rebooted the computer and WSC again warns that I have two firewalls running, Comodo and Windows.

    Any idea what's going on?

    Thanks,
    Bill

Worked like a charm. Comodo is no longer listed.

Now it doesn't recognize my Avira anti-virus which is activated. ;)

    Bill

Edit: Reinstalled and updated Avira. WSC now sees it.

I have no direct experience with Avira; however, the behavior you describe would tend to point to some incomplete or incorrect registration process in the Avira install.

I find Comodo is an infectious program. Once its installed, it controls your whole computer and its hard to get rid of it. Funny how I am stuck with Comodo but it is doing a good job lately. I keep seeing people trying to access my computer and luckily, Comodo just stops them from entering from my orders.
