Avira free user here, but I'm fed up with the slow and, at times, unreliable definition updates. What's the received wisdom on Comodo's suite - both AV and firewall?

I use the Firewall. I tried PC Tools Firewall Plus, but it would crash VLC Media Player, so I went back to Comodo. The constant amassing of files "for my review" is irritating, but otherwise it's great.

As far as the rest of it, I use AVG. It's been good for me. :p

Been using firewall from Comodo from day 1 never used their antivirus as I'm so happy with avast pro AV.
But download CIS and give both firewall and antivirus a try.

I'd say stick with Avira and use Comodo Firewall and D+ (without AV) for the extra layer of protection, and ur good to go. Comodo's AV hasn't reached the levels of AVira, Avast!. etc. yet, so i wouldnt recommend it.

If ur fed up wid Avira, and want to go another way, try avast!.
    Cheers.

Thanks. I think I may have already done something like that, since last time I booted into windows, there weren't any files. But I'll definitely make sure I get it taken care of. ;)
