    Hi there,

I would like to install the Comodo firewall because most NBR members recommend it much more than windows firewall built in Vista that I already used. But apart from this, I read that comodo could bring me a lot of hassle from installation and shortly after installed.
    1. Would you guys tell me useful guides for installing or handling the comodo problems. Just worried Comodo will ruin my system / installed software.
    2. One more thing, am I able to use both with windows firewall? How about the other AV or Antispyware, should I turn them off ? (I am currently running Threat fire, Avira and super antispyware)

    Thanks heaps

I use Comodo Firewall and i cannot believe how good it is, it`s so well made, and it`s free.

But as with any good firewall, if you do an install, switch it to install mode, after a few minutes it will remind you to turn it back to protect mode.

Or it will nag the life out of you!

    thanks for quick reply.
But I still don't get it. Which one I should turn it to install mode, comodo or my other windows firewall? (sorry, basic question)

After installing Comodo, your Windows Firewall should be turned off.
You can check this yourself of course.
Do NOT use them both, that would be very unwise.
Comodo firewall has lots of useful helpfiles and there is the Comodo forum also for any specific questions.
Avira and SAS will both work with Comodo.
ThreatFire can be used but isn't really necessary (imo) if you use the Comodo HIPS called Defense+.

Comodo is an excellent firewall but only if you know how to use it.
Make sure you know how to make rules for programs, again, use the help files and ask at the Comodo forum if you have questions, there are lots of answers to be found there.
Make sure you run Comodo and don't be intimidated by the many pop-ups the first days after installing, that's how the program learns. ;) :)

    Cheers.

I tried Comodo early on in V3 and had serious issues with it. I read that those are mostly resolved now. However, I still did not like the way it operated; took too much care and feeding for my taste.

Although it's not recommended, or necessary, CFP will work fine with the Win XP FW enabled.
