Got my new Lenovo T61p the other day and have been slowly tweaking it according to the guides on this site. Today I tackled anti-virus and firewall. I disabled and uninstalled the Norton that came with the machine and went with Avast and COMODO. The combo seemed to work okay for a while, but now too many things are blocked. I can surf the net just fine, but I can't use my Flickr uploader (it can't access my account through the internet), my kids can't get to runescape (it gives a message about the firewall blocking it and making sure that port 43594 is open) and now I can't even install a program that requires registration (I keep getting a dialog box about the program not being able to access the internet).

I have gotten so frustrated that I uninstalled COMODO, cleaned the registry and even deleted the "wbem" folder to get rid of it. I still can't get any of the previously mentioned issues to go away.

Any thoughts on what I should do?

    Thanks for the help.

You set Comodo to be over sensitive, you should set it to training mode on both accounts if you use D+.

So wait, Calvin, are you suggesting that he set the firewall and D+ to training mode?

The firewall to Training mode/Safe mode, and if he has Defense+ on he should set it to Training mode.

Or just turn off D+ mode completely. 3.0 still has the same problems as 2.x with remembering what was allowed access and what wasnt to the point where people do what the OP do and uninstall Comodo altogether
