I'm only interested in free programs. I have malware anti malware that I run every now and then. Is spybot still a good program to remove spyware and is it still the best to prohibit them from entering your system to begin with?

How does super antispyware do? Does the free version scan and prohibit it from entering your system?

I have seen a couple other names browsing the forum. What others are better then these?

I use Windows 7 firewall and my anti virus is Avira free.

There is a sticky at the top of the page with this information. I use SpywareBlaster myself. :)

Thanks for the heads up. I installed spyware blaster. How does it compare to spybot?

I myself use Spybot search and destroy, as well as AVG antivirus. Now what exactly defines good spyware? If it doesn't find anything, how do you know it's good? And if it does find things then you know it must be good.
But just because a spyware program or anti virus doesn't find anything doesn't mean to say it's not working.

So for me it's a tricky one, but these are the programs I use.

Personally I use Microsoft Security Essentials and have Malwarebytes on hand.

Padmé's advice is possibly best - look at the sticky and take your pick.

Yeah seeing as this is an old thread that a spammer reopened and we have a sticky at the top of the forum, I am going to go ahead and close it.
