This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    'NoScript' has been working for me to remove most ads and even blocks virus's that enter through scripts.

    NoScript, AdBlockPlus. That's what I use and it works just fine. ABP is pretty much the golden standard in ad blocking.

    I agree with Kuroi,No Script & AdBlock Plus.
    NoScript requires a little effort on your part at first but it is great once you configure it.

    One of the annoying things about NoScript (annoying to me, but others would like) is that it blocks *all* scripts, and allows you to opt-in scripts that you want (say YouTube videos). It's great for security, but as villasbill said, you need to sit down with it for a moment to get it to the way you want it.

    One question about Noscript, How do I allow a site such as youtube, but block the adds on videos, theyre still playing before each video.
