You can get disable the notifier window in Avira free using the methods below

    1. http://www.elitekiller.com/files/dis...ntivir_nag.htm

    2. This works for me. Create a new update job with a frequency set to "daily at a particular time". You can also edit the existing update to this mode. Avira doesn't open the notifier pop up window anymore.

I will go by method 2 since it doesn't disable anything. See if this works for you.

I came across this post by Coolguy which unfortunately is closed, but it includes a link that I've seen in other forums which doesn't work for me.
I have XP pro corporate sp2, but where the instructions say to click on properties and select the 'security' tab.....I don't see one. Also, I have, not Avira Classic, but Avira Desktop, which I downloaded and installed only a few days ago. Could this be part of my problem?
Any help greatly appreciated guys..... ;)

Ok, thanks for that CG...... I have seen that page many times, but, seeing as I am running xp pro, I didn't boot into safe mode as it states that Windows 2000 and xp pro users don't need to......WRONG ! I tried booting into safe mode and bingo, there was the 'security' tab......... followed the instructions and all is done..............so XP Pro users take heed.........
........................YOU NEED TO BOOT INTO SAFE MODE........... :D :D :D

You are not following the directions properly. I would explain how to set up a security policy in XP Professional, except what you are doing is against Avira's EULA.
