Does anyone know if Avira Anti-virus Personal Free Edition is supported by the Cisco Clean Access agent?

I would really hate to put my university's sponsored McAfee AV (virus) on my system.

You can show them the power Avira Antivir Personal 9!! XD!
I got a question, is your university provides McAfee Enterprise thingy?
If is McAfee Enterprise thingy, I would said Avira would do the better job.
In term of resources usage, Avira uses less resources compared to McAfee.

It depends on the school. A school chooses which anti-virus programs to support.

OK, so I found the list on my schools website, they support a few Avira products but not the "Free" edition. :(

Well, I will have to buy McAfee for $5, yup, definitely not detecting Avira, it only detects Windows Defender in the list of required security apps.

As mentioned though, you could show your tech department Avira free and they can clear you. At my college, I was able to gain an exemption from CCAA entirely because I showed my computer to the tech department. They were rather impressed with the amount of protection on it.
