At college, they give out McAfee OAS for free. The bookstore guys at school told me it was the best anti-virus protection you could get for free, but based on what I see on this forum, I'm having a little trouble believing the bookstore guys.

Now, I've been checking out Avira AntiVir, and people seem to love it. What do you guys think? Should I go ahead and get rid of McAfee OAS and install AntiVir?

    Your choice indeed.

Avira Antivir Personal 9 is so far the most GODLIKE FREE Antivirus currently.
McAfee, I am not sure. But it kinda weak in my opinion. I used Mcafee before and my laptop got infected. Now, I am on Avira and my housemate laptop was using mcafee. He thought he is safe but when his USB flash drive injected to my laptop. BEEP! Viruses detected. LOL.

Just some experiences to share and some opinions. Cheer~

    Thanks!

This is probably a silly question, but it's not a good idea to have both on the same computer, is it? ('Cause if it isn't, I'll just go with AntiVir.)

It isn't a good idea, only run one AV program. So either use McAfee or Avira but not both. :)
