I know this is in good fun, but one of the reasons why I didn't like/use Avast before the UI upgrade was due to how "unprofessional" it looked. I couldn't recommend it to friends and family either because it didn't "feel" serious and professional like other AV's. (I know its silly but that's what people perceve..perception is everything...take Vista as an example. I wouldn't want family or friends to open the prior version of Avast or respond to an alert and go "Are you serious? This is what's protecting my pc?")

This seems a step back in that "professional" vibe. Glad to see its a choice though. :)
