Thank You @Phoenix for creating this thread. I hope Avast won't make CCleaner a bloatware.

Indeed man, this is scary, I hope Avast doesn't put their hands in the development of CCleaner and turn it into bloatware just like their AV, Avast SecureLine, Avast Safe Browser, Avast Software Updater, Avast Cleanup (which was known in the past to nuke some of your browser extensions by mistake), and the list goes on......

They just had to get their hands on the best app in the world, I hope it won't turn into utter garbage.

Yeah, CCleaner is a great app, and has a few good built on tools, hopefully Avast will leave it alone.

I have used Avast for years and always to a custom install and deselect all the bloat-ware.

    John.

@Phoenix: If Avast ruins CCleaner, I have older CCleaner versions stocked up just for cleaning junk files and registry files. Even BleachBit is near equivalent to CCleaner with Winapp2.ini bonus.

Quite to the contrary it will become bloatware but now I know what software I will not use now.
