interesting as my pro version runs out in 8 days. wonder how much better the pro will be from the free.
it was only released yesterday so will take a while until a few people can try it out.
must admit version 5 free was great but i upgraded so as to get the firewall.

I have ot installed on my 4 year old ( or older, idr) 1.66 1gig ram , core duo inspiron .
It seems really low on resources and doesnt seem to bog down the system. Scans seem v fast especially on my ancient hdd. Its got a new sandbox feature, that isolates unkown prgrams. Its installed on xp.
So far seems like a keeper, if things tuen out ok i will use this on my sager 8150 sb laptop when it finally ships.

I use it, is my AV of choice. Works great, scans are fast, and it uses a low amount of resources. And Avast does have fast scans, only the first one is slow, but all the ones after take only a few minutes.

Just bought it today for 29€ it's at least twice as fast as Kaspersky, which I would never recommend to anyone. Avast! Sandbox rocks as well. Safezone is lovely too. I got the Internet Security edition :)

You seriously will not be disappointed.
