    Are there any improvements in security features in Windows 8?

    There seem to be quite a few improvements in Win8.

    The more noticeable are an improved Windows Defender, Trusted Boot and UEFI with its attendant problems, and improved Address Space Layout Randomization (ASLR) which should protect against many more buffer overun exploits.

    And there are business environment improvements to Applocker and Microsoft were selling the advantages of Windows To Go from a security point of view as opposed to folk using their own less secure machines.

    There are more which I can't remember offhand, but love or hate the interface the actual OS does seem to be more secure. It's all in the docs if you have the time....
