This Smart Security suite is NOD32 Antivirus with their own firewall.

Has anyone used the Smart Security and seperately NOD32 with a free wirewall? Was web browsing faster with Smart Sercurity compared to NOD32 by itself with a free firewall?

It is kind of expensive. I wanted to find out if it was worth the $.

    $90.00 seems pricy

If I am a basic computer user, just surfing the net, will I be ok with Avast Free AV and Sunbelt Free firewall?

    Well.....
I have used both products, and here is my opinion....
Smart security is great, and a really good firewall. Sometimes, its too good, if you are lanning, so make sure you set it to intereactive mode.

Still, i think it is the best security solution i have ever used.

No one can tell you if you'll be ok. The best defense is being knowledgeable about where you surf and how you react to what's being done to your computer. I still like Nod32 for anti virus. Smart security is good too but personally I found no use for it.

I was using NOD IS but I switched to Norton IS 2009.

It's really your call man, all of these programs are very good.

I would recommend you download trials of each and see which one you prefer. ESET has 30 day trials while Norton has 14-15 day trials. Kaspersky also makes a great suite, think they give a 30 day trial.

Try them out and see which you prefer........ but regardless of which one you choose, you are getting great software.

By the way, the $90 sounds a tad high, is that for a single year or two?

Yes, there is. I mean, if you visit some sketchy site odds are you might end up with something you don't want. There are various XXX sites out there that try and put things on your hard drive not to mention sites dealing with security bypasses/cracks.

NOD32 is the best anti-virus program hands down. I been using it for 2 + years and would recommend it to anyone. There smart security suite is okay although I'm currently the business version.
