I hope this is the right place to post this thread as I can't find anywhere else more relevant to post it. Apologies if this is in the wrong place.

I have been using the free version of Spamfighter on my Outlook Expres 6 for several years. But about 6 or 7 months ago, it is no longer "learning" effectively and a lot of repeated spams that I marked as such have not been filtered to its Spam folder. I am now looking for a replacement and wondered if anyone here know of a good one that is free.

the good thing I find about Spamfighter is that it has the facility to "empty the spamfolder" at a click of the mouse, whereas the SpamAware that I tried, although highly effective does not have this and each spam that went into a Spamfolder I created then need to be deleted individually. After that, when they went into the Deleted Folder, they need to be deleted again.

Any help on this will be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

BTW, as a aside, do I have to mark my thread as Resolved or something along this line once the issue is closed or resolved ? I can't seem to find the setting for this. Thanks

It's been aeons ago since I've used a spamfilter myself but from those around me who still use a dedicated email program, Mailwasher seems still popular.
Perhaps POPfile if you don mind teaching the program rules yourself?

OT; threads can't be marked as 'solved/closed' here on NBR, no worries.

Thanks for the two mentioned. I've read some review on the Mailwasher and it does not suite my need as it only handle one mail account. But I will try out the POPfile and see how it goes.

In the meantime if anyone else have any other suggestions, I'd be happy to have a look and try them. Thanks.

Thanks also about not able to mark a thread as solved/closed.

Thanks MikeGeek. But SpamWeed is not a freeware. Therefore need to pay after the trial period. I am currently trying out Spamihliator whcih so far seem to be quite good althoguh I am not sure if it is feezing my browser every now and then. Too early to tell.
