What does everyone use for an anti-virus?

all the ones that windows suggested seemed to be trials of software, not any free versions...

I've used Avira free, and it worked with absolutely no problems. So does AVG free. Kaspersky works nicely too. But Norton AV 2009 used to hang a lot for some reason. Still haven't found a solution to that.

Rite now, i'm using Avira Premium (90 day trial). Running smoothly. :)

Users at various forums reports that Avast is working. Make a search and you will find confirmations.

I second Kaspersky, best antivirus software I've ever used hands down.

I suggest using Avira, it is a pretty good AV.

I am using Eset's NOD32 Smart Security Suite with no problems - works on both 32bit and 64bit versions of W7 (also used both 64bit and 32bit versions on 64bit W7 install with no issues)

According to Paul Thurrot's SupersiteforWindows and other sites I've checked (like HowtoGeek), AVG free, Avast free and Avira free all work well.
So does Kaspersky AV 2009, NOD32 AV and Norton AV 2009.
I've tried Avira and Avast myself and both free versions work normal.
Comodo Internet Suite (installed without the Comodo AV, just firewall and Defense+) was only a tad more difficult to install.
Normal install and run as admin didn't work, however, right-clicking and choosing Troubleshoot compatability->selecting Vista works well and Comodo runs fine now.
    Cheers.

Yup, this is what I use.

After it expires, though, I'm going to Avira; just as I trust it in XP, I'll trust it in 7. :)

Any free firewall you can suggest for W7 64? I used to have Outpost Security Suite, but it doesn't work on W7. (Getting BSODs)
