I have been using free Anti Spyware programs since I can remember (Ad Aware and Spybot) and I think that they have done an ok job protecting my PC. I have seen a slew of reviews come out recently that mention the decline in the effectiveness of these products in blocking and removing malware. I have noticed that a couple of titles have been gaining a lot of good mentions (PC Tools Spyware Doctor is the one I have seen do the best). Has anyone got any good recommendation on a good Spyware blocker/remover? I think I am ready to buy one and am wondering which one to get.

I thirded SAS. If you are willing to buy instead of the free version, you'll get real time protection too.

Why do you think so? It tags usless cookies as adware. Windows defender is a decent AS IMHO.
