Have NOD32 AV only, turned off Vista's Firewall and Defender.

I'm gonna install ThreatFire, what do you think ? and would it be enough for security : nod32 av+threatfire ?

I think you should be good with NOD32. Routers also have firewalls built in them.

You need to use some firewall -- Windows built-in or third-pary or router firewall... just something. Being connected to the internet without any firewall is just nuts.

I advise BitDefender for AV and it will replace Windows Defender also....firewall stay with Vista's.

    I hope it's on... ;)

Joking aside, you should still use a software firewall on your computer.
