I am using AVG (free version). According to the AVG interface, my e mail scanner is running ok. But it's not scanning my messages.

I am using windows live mail with 32 bit vista.

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance. ;)

What version of AVG are you using? I personally recommend that you disable the e-mail scanner from AVG, if you are using V8 and above. Nothing but problems as I have experienced.

I agree. In fact, I recommend disabling everything but the core Antivirus and antispyware. The rest are just bloat and are unnecessary.

I actually switched to Microsoft Security Essentials and I'm loving it, but AVG 9 is good too if you prefer it.

I am using AVG 9 free edition.

I had a look at the AVG forums and quite a lot of the advice was not to use the scanner like you say. As 99% of your messages come from trustworthy sources.
I was really just wondering why it wasn't scanning them, but it turns out that it all depends on what e-mail program your using. If its Outlook it's ok and avg works, but if you use Windows live mail, it wont scan your messages as you download your messages from the internet server.

    So I was told!!! :D
