    Hi,

I'm using my AV - Avast, but it slows down my PC extremely (!!) Could someone suggest some AV which won't slow down my machine like Avast.

    Danke

Microsoft Security Essentials works well for me and it's free.

Hi emmas, there's no particular reason for Avast to grind a PC/notebook.
Even on an old PentiumM 1,6GHz/1GB/XPSP3 it runs fine.
What did you use before Avast/did you remove any previous AV completely/reboot between uninstalling and installing? Removal with a dedicated removal tool?
Check MSE or Avira if you don want to find out what's the issue (Avast really shouldn't cause any issues).
