I have virus's. Some Trojan on my comp. I have AVG Free (Most Current Edition) and a Trial of ESET NOD32 v3.0.

I ran a scan to find the trojans on my computer and each provided very different results:

The problem with AVG is, when I try to heal the Virus, it says "specified file not found" as if the file is jumping around?

NOD 32 Says the object has been cleaned.

What is the solution here? I thought NOD 32 was the best you can get?

I don't want to have to reformat my laptop for this virus (I just did about a month ago). It also disables my firewall and changes my network connection settings so I can't get on the internet all the time.

Boot int safe mode and run NOD 32 (imo more reps than AVG) and also, if you know the specific trojan, look for a specific remover for it.

    also try NOD32's full scan

yes safe mode might help also if you are having trouble removing it

Get Avira. It has better detection rates (albeit more false positives too) then NOD32

Maybe a blunt question but have you used AVG and NOD32 while both were installed or did you uninstall one completely and then install the other?
Having two AV's with real-time protection installed is a recipe for insecurity.
Try Malwarebytes'Antimalware to remove all the nasties as explained in this post.
Check my sig for download links.
    Cheers.

I do have both installed on my computer but ran them at different times. This virus is disconnecting me from my network and turing off automatic updates.

I will try booting in safe mode as well as some other programs, but really surprised that NOD 32 was ineffective. Why does having 2 virus protections cause ineffeciency?

I just need an all in one solution to clear these out. I don't care about the price, I'm tired of virus's.

Its either good protection, or I'm going with using VM's to protect my comp!

Running AVG and SAS is no problem, not for the paid versions nor the free ones.

Because their real-time protection functions will probably conflict with each other.
Again, if you want 2 different AV's, you must be absolutely sure that one offers real-time protection and the other works only on-demand.
If you are not sure how to do this then don't install two.

    First of all, try Malwarebytes'Antimalware.
Download it but don't install it yet.
Rename the downloaded installer to ABC.exe and then install it.
Don't try to update it after install; close the program.
Go to the MBAM folder in C:\Programs and rename mbam.exe to abcd.exe.
Now run mbam (by starting abcd.exe which is just the renamed mbam.exe), first try to update it and then let it do a full scan.
Let me know if this works.
    Cheers.

The companies that make AVG, NOD32, Avira and Malwarebytes'Antimalware (all mentioned in this thread) don't provide genuine software?
You prefer to use 3 year old stuff?
